CHILDREN’S THANKSGIVING PRAYER

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thank you God for all that grows,
Thank you for the sky's rainbows,
Thank you for the stars that shine,
Thank you for these friends of mine,
Thank you for the moon and sun,
Thank you God for all you've done!
THANKSGIVING TIPS
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

  1. Find a way for the kids to burn their energy or they will be under your feet expressing their boredom.   Have a Thanksgiving Day piñata game.  Visit www.ShowYourPizzazz.com to view a large selection of holiday piñatas including a turkey that will actually gobble at you when hit!  A good way to include teens and older kids is to have them prep the piñata and organize the lines.  If the majority of kids are very young or you plan to hold the piñata party inside the house, have the piñata converted into a pull string piñata versus the traditional “swing of the bat”.  Most party supply stores (including Show Your Pizzazz) sells conversion kits that are just as much fun as the original.
  1. Buy some high quality decorative paper goods for your Thanksgiving table. You will have enough dishes to wash with all the pots and pans plus with the classy options you have now with paper products, your table is more festive than ever.  Visit www.showyourpizzazz.com to see our selection.
  1. Entertain the Adults that are not helping in the kitchen unless you like repeatedly answering the question “Is it ready yet?”  Bring your bedroom television into a sitting area so you can simultaneously show the Macy’s Day Parade and the Thanksgiving football pre-game shows at the same time.  Don’t forget to supply your favorite NFL decorations and platters to serve your football snacks.  Find a nice selection at www.showyourpizzazz.com By the way, here is the schedule:

       Macy’s Day Parade         9:00am – 12:00pm

       Atlanta at Detroit          12:30pm EST

       Denver at Dallas            4:15pm EST   GO COWBOYS!!

  1. Assign one of the older kids or young adults to be hostess / host for the younger kids.  Duties would include setting the table and making sure that Becky and Jenny are sitting at opposite ends if they are still upset about sharing that Barbie; organizing and soliciting judges for a Thanksgiving coloring contest; Monitoring the snack table to ensure the little bellies still have room for turkey; teaching the kids the Thanksgiving Day Prayer; etc.  You will find tons of Thanksgiving arts, crafts and prizes at www.showyourpizzazz.com
  2. Lighten your load a little by figuring out what you would like people to bring ahead of time.  Most everyone is going to ask “What should I bring?”  Then you would normally say “don’t worry about it” because you hadn’t thought about it.  Well, think about it.  Plan for everyone to bring a side dish or desserts.  That gives you a larger variety and less dishes you have to make.  You could ask everyone to bring a game, wine, video, music, cider, kids drinks,  or whatever else you can think of.

USA KIDS CHRISTMAS 2005

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We are taking a little different approach to supporting the children of our military members this year.  You may recall last year, Show Your Pizzazz asked for cash and toy donations to deliver directly to low income military children in the area.  This year we have decided to support the efforts of the Armed Services YMCA (ASYMCA) to support these same military families.  All you need to do is visit www.ShowYourPizzazz.com , click through the Letters and Calls from Santa advertisement.  100% of the proceeds from your purchase of Santa Letters and Santa Calls will be benefiting the low income military families.  Plus the little ones in your life will receive a personalized phone call or personalized letter from Santa!
CHILDREN’S THOUGHT OF THE MONTH
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Dear God,

Bet it’s very hard for you to love all of everybody in the whole world.  There are only 4 people in our family and I can never do it.
